CyanogenMod, the most popular Android-based custom software out there, has added support for a nice range of new devices in its latest CM11 nightly builds, it seems.

Recently, the team announced the availability of CyanogenMod 10.2.1, the latest release in their Jelly Bean-based branch, and that they would focus on the next major version of their software.

This would be the aforementioned CyanogenMod 11 branch, which is based on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

CM11 has been already available on various handsets out there, and it appears that their number has increased significantly over the past week or so, as Android Authority notes.

The list of new devices that currently enjoys support in CM11 includes Sony’s Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra smartphones (the Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition is supported as well), along with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 handsets.

However, these are only some of the phones that can be updated to Android 4.4.2 via CM11, as the list also includes the Galaxy Nexus (Verizon, Sprint), Nexus S, HTC Droid DNA, HC One S, One X, One X+, One XL, LG G2 (International, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon), and LG Spectrum.

Moreover, Motorola Droid Bionic, Droid RAZR, Samsung Captivated, Epic 4G, Galaxy Exhilarate, Galaxy Premier, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S Blaze 4G, Galaxy S Relay 4G, Sony Xperia V, Xperia ZR, and Xperia Z are also included.

For the time being, CyanogenMod builds are available only as nightly releases, which means that they are not very stable. However, they should work nicely for those willing to give them a try.

Keep in mind that installing CyanogenMod software requires rooting the device, which results in voided warranty. You will be the only ones held responsible in the event that the phone is harmed during the rooting or installation process.

Users can find the latest CyanogenMod 11 nightly builds on the official CM download website.
