The first M snapshot is currently limited to Nexus devices

An updated version of the CyanogenMod 11 custom build based on Android 4.4 KitKat has been made available to download for all versions of the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10 tablets.

With this release, the CyanogenMod team has decided to change things a little bit. In the past, they would have just pushed out the nightly build onto the supported devices and let the bug reports rain free. But now, the team is adopting a different strategy, releasing the build for Nexus devices first, in order to maintain a clear picture of the in-coming reported issue.

The developers seem to be wanting to take advantage of early user feedback and Nexus devices are perfect for achieving that, since Google offers the Android Open Source Project code for them. And because CyanogenMod is based on AOSP code, the tablets are supposed to encounter none or minimal device specific issues.

The team has performed some basic testing on the devices to make sure everything runs smoothly and found no specific issues. If problems do arise, CM expects they will be due to the new code.

CM also plans to bring the nightly build on older devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
