Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has started taking pre-orders for the Cyan Nokia Lumia 920 smartphone in China over the weekend, and it has already registered increased interest in it.

The company is listing the device as available for pre-order for 4,599 Yuan for those interested in grabbing it off-contract, as well as for free with a China Unicom contract agreement.

Furthermore, the company is also offering the Nokia (NOKIA) DT-900 Wireless charging pad for free with the purchase of its flagship Windows Phone 8-based handset.

However, it seems that the first batch of devices has already been sold out, and that Nokia is set to start delivering it to users on February 25.

According to a recent post on NokiaPowerUser, there are five color versions of the Lumia 920 being offered in China at the moment, where the handset is still enjoying high demand.

Proof of that also comes from online retailer 360Buy.com, which has started taking pre-orders for the Cyan Nokia Lumia 920 as well, WMPoweruser reports.

Apparently, the retailer managed to sell 3,000 units in only one hour after opening reservations for it, which clearly shows increased interest from users in this device.

“Nokia Lumia 920 blue Jingdong exclusive debut of the 3,000 units sold in the pre-sale within 1 hour! Secretly tell you, there is a small amount can be scheduled Oh! Stay tuned Lumia 920 blue,” the company reportedly said on Chinese micro blog weibo.

Apparently, despite increased interest in the mobile phone, sales of Lumia 920 in China have been rather low, mainly due to limited supply.

However, Nokia might be already planning ramping up production for this Windows Phone 8 device – and for other similar handsets, for that matter –, so as to maintain momentum and regain some of the market share it has been losing in the past few years. Stay tuned for more on this.
