Custom Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs have become usual for the past several weeks as more devices receive their unofficial ports for the Android 4.0 mobile platform.

Those who are anxious to check the latest features offered by the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, but cannot wait until an official version is released for their devices can try out some of the custom ROMs recently launched.

Courtesy to XDA Senior Member tbalden, myTouch 4G Slide owners can flash a custom ROM that combines HTC Pyramid Ice Cream Sandwich ROM framework and the HTC Doubleshot kernel.

Although this is only an alpha release, there are a lot of things fully functional, but still quite a number that need to be fixed in future builds.

The person responsible for this release confirms that the following features should work with this custom ROM:

- Call voice, SMS;

 - Keyboard, hw keyboard rotation, softkeyboard when slided back work only with the fixes flashed found in the updates part;

 - 3D;

 - Camera (with SW jpeg encoding, gemini off!), tap focus, 8MPx, HTC camera app included for that – works with FIX-5 in the updates part;

- SMP architecture (Scoring 59 FPS on nenamar2 here on stock speed)

- Audio

- Wi-Fi connectivity;

- Mobile data;

- Bluetooth support;

- SDCard

- Market

- Google apps pre-installed (except Gtalk video chat that does not work);

- GPS partially works if SIM card is inserted;

- Face unlocking (System Settings/Security/Screen lock) with fix-6 in the updates part.

However, there are some features that are still under development and do not function for the moment, such as:

- Camcorder (video recording), and gemini hw jpeg encoding for photos is off;

- USB storage;

- wired Headset buttons;

- built-in spell checking;

- Accelerometer;

- Gyroscope;

- Compass.
