While Samsung readies phone-sized screens, LG is thinking big

Samsung and LG continue with their patent wars and theft accusations, as they try to commercialize the same type of OLED technology, but they do seem to have preferences that set them apart.

Samsung, for instance, is working hard on flexible displays for smartphones and other small gadgets.

Now, we learn that LG is more partial to curved OLED TVs, the type that measure 55 inches in diagonal, or thereabouts.

The company actually revealed the concept back at CES 2013 (January).

Now, Vice President of Home Entertainment Europe, Thomas Lee, has confirmed that the "world-first" curved OLED TVs will start shipping in the second half of the year.

Prices are still unknown, sadly enough, but we suspect they will be huge, so we suppose there's no harm in staving off heart attacks.
