Steam is fast becoming one of the easiest ways to get games to the public. More and more companies are opting to have their products launched on the digital download service at the same time they are released in traditional brick and mortar stores.

The latest to do so is Crytek, which aims to release Crysis Warhead on Steam on the exact same day that it hits stores. So, if you don't want to take a trip to the store, better load up Steam now.

If you wish, you can now place a pre-order for Crysis Warhead, the expansion pack for the graphics wonder released last year. You can also get the original game on Steam, if you haven't played it until now, and you can even choose to get a double pack, which features both Crysis and Warhead at a discounted price.

Crysis Warhead is set to tell the story of sergeant Psycho, who was trapped on the other side of the island while the events of the first game took place. The developers say that the game will be more than an expansion but smaller than a full fledged sequel. There will be more weapons to play around with, smarter enemies that will challenge the player and a full new half island to explore. The open world aspect of the original game is maintained and players will be able to create their own solutions to the tactical challenges that they face.

Valve also states that you can now pre-order Multiwinia: Survival of the Flattest from Introversion in order to get Darwinia for free. The offer will be available until September 19, when the real time strategy game is launched. Multiwinia is a very interesting, stripped down game which offers simple, clear mechanics and it is a lot of fun, as you can see from my preview.
