Crytek, the developer of the recently released Crysis 2, has promised that it will eliminate all of the cheaters currently running amok in the game's online mode.

Crysis 2 was launched last week and it seems that there were quite a few problems with it, prompting the developer to release a patch before the weekend, and promising that a new one will arrive at the end of this one.

Now, in order to reassure people who bought the game, Crytek has posted a new message on its MyCrysis forum page, in which it addresses the large number of cheaters that are running amok in the game's online multiplayer mode.

"We wanted to let all of our fans and players know that we take cheating very seriously here at Crytek. We are currently taking steps to permanently remove cheats from Crysis 2 and those individuals that choose to utilize them. We thank you for your patience and want to ensure you that we will continue to work hard to keep the integrity of Crysis 2 intact and cheat-free," said the developer.

The company continues to say that a new patch will be delivered later this week for the game on the PC, and, perhaps, even on consoles like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, but patience is still needed.

"We've been working hard to resolve as many of the post-launch issues as possible including some improvements to our game security. These updates will be made available via automatic-download later this week."

Despite these problems, Crysis 2 has been praised by lots of people all over the web for its stunning graphics and the wide array of improvements it brings over the first two Crysis games.

The game also had the most successful launch this year for its publisher, Electronic Arts, selling the most copies on the Xbox 360, followed by the PlayStation 3, while the PC came in last.
