The development team working on the newly announced Rajas of India expansion for Crusader Kings II is ready to show off the way the massive subcontinent will be portrayed in the grand strategy title via a new teaser video.

Paradox Development Studios will introduce complex new mechanics in order to portray the political and economic complexities of the new regions and players will be able to follow three new religions: Jainism, Hinduism and Buddhism.

The team adds that gamers will be able to experience “new cultural and religious events that would appease even the ferocious goddess Kali, including meeting yogis and sadhus, celebrating Diwali and thinking about your reincarnation. Be careful, the Wheel of Life keeps on turning and those karmic forces can be equally cruel!”

Crusader Kings II is more focused on families and the actions that they need to take in order to keep and expand their power than other Paradox Entertainment titles.

Rajas of India will also feature war elephants, new terrains that make it harder to conduct sustained warfare and there are new mechanics for the political side of the game.

The hundreds of new regions added to the game will make even the smallest powers of Europe feel the importance of India, which brings new trade opportunities and the potential for more alliances and marriages.

The expansion is at the moment expected to be launched via digital distribution channels in late spring 2014.

Crusader Kings II has already received five expansions, which have added Islam and playable Jewish rulers, have expanded the time frame explored and have introduced republics as factions.

During the recent Convention, Paradox also announced that it was working on Hearts of Iron IV, which is expected to arrive in early 2015, a new role-playing game called Runemaster and an expansion for Europa Universalis IV, called Wealth of Nations.
