The team makes it easier to see political structures

The team at the Paradox Development Studio is working on a new expansion for Crusader Kings II, which will probably arrive at some point in July or August, and they are seeking to make it easier for players to interact with their realm and their extended family.

A new diary on the forums talks about an expanded right-click menu, which allows the player to get more interaction options that otherwise would require some menu navigation to reach.

Paradox states, "For starters we've finally removed the capital letters in the tooltip to hint about how to now interact with characters, but that's not really a big deal. We have also extended the menu to now include actions such as the plot to kill in this menu to make life a little bit easier."

To address another common complaint about Crusader Kings II, the company has also introduced a new map mode that will combine the independent realms and the direct vassal ones from the previous version of the title.

Once again, the aim is to improve the way players can see the various political entities that make up their realm and better understand how territorial control works for each vassal and for each vassal's vassal.

The new system might require some getting used to, but it does seem to offer more details to interested gamers.

Paradox is also planning tweaks for the way romantic mechanics work for various character categories and other smaller game mechanics.

Crusader Kings II is a grand strategy title focused on territory

The game is the only one in the grand strategy lineup of Paradox Interactive that does not focus on control over provinces.

Instead, players are expected to try and make their family as powerful as possible, which means that marriage, assassination and diplomatic maneuvering are as important as warfare.

The new Crusader Kings II expansion will also tweak how warfare works and the way government is linked to holding type.

At the moment, Paradox is also working on the Common Sense expansion for Europa Universalis IV, which will arrive on June 9, and the company is also planning to launch Hearts of Iron IV later in the year.
