Taiwanese motherboard maker ASUS is expected to further update its line of high-end motherboards with the upcoming introduction of the new Crosshair III Formula, an AMD-based motherboard designed to provide users with support for the latest AMD processors and graphics cards. The upcoming board will become part of the company's successful line of RoG (Republic of Gamers) motherboards and will include the usual RoG bundle, like the SupremeFX audio card, an external LCD Poster and onboard power/reset/CMOS clear buttons.

According to a recent first-look article on overclock3d.net of the Crosshair III Formula, ASUS is set to unveil the new board in the near future, offering computer and gaming enthusiasts a new platform upon which to build a high-end desktop rig. The board looks to be built on the same layout as its predecessor, featuring an 8+2 phase power design, but provides a series of differences.

You'll notice such differences when you'll search for the old floppy connector, which appears to have been left out. In addition, ASUS seems to have opted for integrating just a pair of PCI-E x16 slots with an additional PCI-E x1 slot, just as on the company's recent Rampage II Extreme RoG board.

As mentioned at the beginning, the board will also be featured with a number of other RoG goodies, including a SupremeFX audio card, an external LCD Poster, onboard power/reset/CMOS clear buttons and support for AMD's CrossFire X multi-GPU technology. Built on the AMD 790FX chipset, the Crosshair III Formula will enable users with support for the latest Phenom II processors coupled with fast DDR3 memory, for the ultimate, in-game performance.

Unfortunately, as with most unofficial products, there are no details regarding the pricing and availability of the pictured board, but ASUS is likely going to showcase it at the Computex 2009 show in June.
