Croc frenzy all year long

As much as the general tendency is to frown and diss crocs, except if they’re worn by children at the beach, this is one trend that will simply not go away. At least, not without putting up a decent fight for dominance in the international shoe market. Like it or not, crocs have just made that extra step towards becoming footwear appropriate all year round by being turned into fuzzy winter boots. For women, just in case there was any doubt left.

While Europeans tend to be more lenient when it comes to crocs, in that wearing them is not seen as such an abominable fashion faux pas from which there is virtually no way back into the good graces of fashion-savvy folks, in the US, they are situated right there, next to the ten commandments, if one may be allowed the exaggeration. Ironically enough, it’s in the States that crocs are now going that extra mile towards becoming a constant presence on the shoe scene.

Coming in the girliest of girlie pinks (various shades of it, actually), the Crocs Nadia Winter Boots boast "a soft, comfortable fit, and fuzzy footbed [that] is removable for easy cleaning and care." And, just in case women who will dare make a statement with these boots also happen to care about animals, they should rest assured that no living being has been harmed in their making. "A synthetic fur upper offers snug warmth and exceptional cushioning." the retailer guarantees.

Priced at $70, the Croc Winter Boots can be a good alternative to their more up-class counterparts, the Uggs. To cap it all off, they are more resistant (or so say the first reviews of the product), more colorful and definitely something that even PETA would approve of. Sure, women wearing them might get a few cross looks while walking down the street but at least they won’t feel the cold and they’ll be as comfortable as it gets. Plus, they’ll be in tune with the latest trend. And stay true to the pink.
