The animals are quite efficient in keeping burglars at a distance, the family says

Animal rights activists and conservationists will probably frown at the news that two adult crocodiles currently serve as watchdogs for one family in Thailand.

Owner Awirut Nathip explains that, because one of these crocodiles, Nguen, is a tad too aggressive, he had no choice but make it live in the ditch found under the house.

However, the other crocodile, Thong, is allowed to move about the yard and stand guard in front of the door, Sky News reports.

Few will be surprised to hear that, ever since they chose to use crocodiles as watchdogs, Awirut Nathip and his family have not had any run-ins with burglars.

“If we're upstairs he'll come and lie in front of the door. We're not worried at all. No one would dare to get in,” the crocodiles' owner told members of the press.
