Undoubtedly, this year’s biggest commercial hit was the “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon,” starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. The latest promo for the 2010 Critics’ Choice Awards also capitalizes on the success of “New Moon,” with host Kristin Chenoweth taking on the role of Bella Swan and facing what seems to be a pack of angry werewolves.

The scene in the movie which inspired this promo must be well known to all “Twilight” fans. It has Bella jumping out of her truck and facing Sam, the man she believes to be responsible for Jacob’s change in recent weeks. She loses her temper and slaps Paul, which, in turn, angers him and prompts his transformation into a wolf. In the promo, things are somewhat different.

Chenoweth goes to the four bare-chested men to ask not about Jacob but, as many a female fan on Team Edward would probably also do, to ask why Pattinson is given so little screen time in the sequel. “What did you do to him? Why is Robert Pattinson barely in this movie?!” the awards host yells, shoving one of the boys who seemed bent to block her way. The same boy then growls at her and tells her to be on her way, which is when she slaps him.

Next up, the video goes just like in the movie: the guy begins to heave and breathe heavily, as if about to start the transformation into a wolf. And then, the unthinkable happens, and he starts crying. As usual, Chenoweth is relentless: “Are you crying?,” she asks with a smirk. To have the final word, she turns to the camera and says with disdain, “Werewolves,” and then, to them, “put some clothes on.”

Fans will see Kristin Chenoweth and perhaps more videos of this kind when the Critics’ Choice Awards airs live on January 15, at 9 p.m. on VH1. Meanwhile, below is the “New Moon” inspired promo. Enjoy.
