Creative launched the X-Fi sound card which delivers true 24-bit sound quality and fidelity, or at least that's what the company says. After teaming up with game producers such as id software and Electronic Arts for providing X-Fi enabled games like Doom 3, Battlefield 2 and the recently launched Quake 4, Creative launched a sound system that will unleash the power of X-Fi.

GigaWorks G500 is a 5.1 surround sound speaker system that features a 130 Watt RMS subwoofer, manufactured in wood. It has Creative's "Flared DynaPorts" which maximize the airflow to deliver special bass sound. Every satellite speaker of GigaWorks G500 can produce 36 Watts RMS and also has a "Flared DynaPort" to extend the frequency response.

The audio settings can be adjusted with the help of the PowerTouch, which is a wired controller that features dual LED panels. The controller integrates a headphone jack and the subwoofer can be connected to an external player via an auxiliary input.

Creative GigaWorks G500 also includes a built-in sound decoder, DDTS-100, that supports standards like Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS-ES. The price of the GigaWorks G500 will be around US$249.
