Creative seems to be in a ZEN-player launching spree lately. After announcing the launch of ZEN X-Fi and having delivered it to the market in two models, the company announced the release of a third PMP in a little over a week, the Creative ZEN Mozaic. Depending on the popularity it will gain, the new ZEN Mozaic is likely to replace the old ZEN V in time, but that remains to be seen.

The company plans to have the Mozaic portable media player available in three different colors, black, silver and pink, although there are also inlays for other colors and shaders available for each model in a mosaic style pattern. The ZEN Mozaic comes with a 'tiled' keypad, quite different from what we are used to see from Creative products. The players will feature 2, 4 or 8GB of memory. Europe will have on its side a 16GB model.

The Creative ZEN Mozaic comes with a built in FM radio and a 1.8 inch LCD display. The resolution of the display is 128x160 pixels, and that is too poor to allow users to watch movies on it. The player also includes a voice recorder, eight preset EQ options and a custom option, as well as the USB 2.0 interface. The battery is said to last up to 32h.

Creative designed the player to support music formats like MP3, WMA, WAV and Audible 4. Among its capabilities, one can spot the JPEG images display, as well as the possibility to render device specific video files. The prices for the Creative ZEN Mozaic range in Singapore from $72 for the 2GB model, to $94 for the 4GB version, and $124 for the 8GB one. Although no specifications on the European prices have been made, we should hope they will stay close to the Singaporean ones.
