It is programmable and can enhance audio based on ambient noise

Creative really likes to impress its users apparently. Not content with just making another high-end speaker, it installed a very special technology on the Sound BlasterAxx AXX 200.

Said technology is a combination of a chip called Sound Blaster SB-Axx1, and a quad microphone array.

The chip enhances movies, gaming audio, music and calls in real time (something truly unique right now), while the microphones (in addition to 360° voice pickup) detect noise, which the SB-Axx1 processor suppresses.

Thus, the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX 200 is very good for teleconferencing, especially since the Super Megaphone installed within can amplify voice, or even let users add on-the-fly voice effects.

Then there's NFC, which allows the speaker to pair with any other Bluetooth device nearby instantly, or two at once (provided they, too, have NFC).

The rest of the specs aren't as surprising, but they aren't disappointing either, not in the least. There is, for example, a capacitive touch control panel, as well as support for various apps and software.

What's more, the speaker runs on a dual purpose battery, called that way because it can keep the speaker running for 15 hours but can also recharge your phone or tablet if you plug them in.

Furthermore, when connected via USB instead of Bluetooth it can play the part of Sound Blaster sound card, accelerating SBX Pro Studio and CrystalVoice technologies (Acoustic Echo Cancellation, Noise Reduction, Smart Volume, Focus and FX for morphing voice accents and characters).

Dedicated auxiliary/microphone input, plus a headphone/line output are part of the spec sheet as well. All in all, Creative definitely has the means to justify the price of $149.99 / €149.99, even if, in the end, it will fall to prospective buyers to decide if they feel the price is low or high.

“This powerful AXX 200 is truly portable and besides possessing a full advanced suite of intelligent features, also comes with many zany and useful features that would allow users to have great fun with their audio. Here's a good example: the AXX 200 is the only speaker to incorporate a Super Megaphone,” said Sim Wong Hoo, Chairman and CEO of Creative Technology Ltd.
