Having already showcased its two latest headsets, Creative is now, apparently, putting the finishing touches on yet another audio product, the D220W, essentially a wireless soundbar speaker that can work over a distance of up to 100 feet.

Though cables are still very much a part of any computer or electronic setup during these times, the industry is eagerly coming up with ways of lessening the need for them.

As such, IT players invented various transmitters and other technologies capable of doing away with a wire or another.

In the case of the audio industry, hardware makers have been striving to perfect those technologies that can perform wireless audio transmissions.

Now, Creative is getting ready to show off the fruits of its latest labors by finalizing the D220W wireless soundbar speaker.

Basically, the product is paired with the Sound Blaster Wireless USB transmitter and can work over distances of up to 100 feet.

As for what it can do, the product has high-end amplifiers and drivers that supposedly deliver excellent sonic quality and deep bass.

“With the Sound Blaster Wireless whole-home audio system we designed and engineered an easy-to-use, whole-home audio system that streams music wirelessly in high-quality to any room of the home, that doesn’t have the drawbacks of other systems on the market, such as poor quality audio playback, and we wanted to deliver a complete system at an exceptionally low price,” said Steve Erickson, VP and GM for audio and video at Creative.

“By using the Sound Blaster Wireless with your Mac or PC you can listen to your music library on your favorite player, such as iTunes, or your favorite Internet streaming program, like Pandora, without having to transfer your entire music library to a new system and new interface, as required by some other whole-audio systems,” he added.

Set to sell for $169.99, the Creative D220W will be released during the fourth quarter of 2010.
