Developer and publisher of Crackdown, Realtime Worlds and Microsoft Game Studios have just announced the release of both free and premium downloadable content for the action Xbox 360 winner, the open-world action title "Crackdown." Download is available as of today via Xbox Live Marketplace.

Downloadable content will include vehicles, weapons, game modes and seven new Achievements. More than that, gamers will have free access to improved mission time trials and the option to repopulate gangs and kingpins after they have beaten the game. A vehicle impound garage will also be available and of course the long-awaited Keys to the City (cheat mode including new "super agent" abilities and the option to create ramps, vehicles and explosives anywhere in Pacific City, at any point in the game.)

Here are some of the benefits of downloading one of the two packs, or both:

- for 800 Microsoft Points, Agents can access the full Crackdown armory, which includes three unique vehicles, four new devastating weapons, co-op game types, an Agent "cloaking device" and an added dynamic street-racing mode;

- new and improved street-racing mode bringing several white-knuckle races to the streets; agents can win by any means necessary, either it is speed they choose, or sabotage;

- premium vehicle additions helping gamers dominate their foes;

- choose the Agency Buggy, fitted with a turret for the new, ultimate fast-firing projectile chain gun, for rough and tumble off-road races;

- choose the Agency Armored Vehicle for low-profile battering ram: it is strong enough to knock vehicles out of the way and protect

- Agents from an onslaught of gunfire, while fitted with an independently aiming rocket turret.

- choose the Agency Racecar for the long stretches of city pavement;

- benefit from the earth shattering power of the rocket launcher (the MSK Lobber), the all-powerful MZ360 Mini-Gun and the HRX Harpoon gun, capable of stopping crime in its path by nailing criminals to nearby cars and walls;

Most importantly however, is that on May 16th, owners of the Crackdown downloadable packs will also be able to access the Halo 3 multiplayer beta from the in-game menu. Talk about fulfilling demand!
