With a long time in the making, Eminem’s comeback on the music scene is now perfectly outlined, much to the joy of fans. “Crack a Bottle,” the rapper’s first official single in many years, has just set a new record for the number of downloads in its first week of release, Billboard reports, eliminating competition such as T.I and Rihanna.

For its opening week, “Crack a Bottle” sold 418,000 downloads, rocketing straight to number one on the Hot 100 chart. The triumvirate of Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent is now complete, Billboard informs, as all three artists have contributed to one extent or another to the making of the track. However, while “Crack a Bottle” is hailed as Eminem’s comeback, from what 50 is telling the media, it could be no comeback at all.

The former Slim Shady is now working on the finishing touches of “Relapse,” the studio material that is supposed to guarantee him his place back in the spotlight. 50 Cent, though, is singing a different tune than the media, as Rolling Stone has it, saying that “Crack a Bottle” would rather be included on his own, much delayed album, “Before I Self Destruct,” instead of on Eminem’s material.

“50 Cent, who contributes a verse to the song, recently told MTV that ‘Crack’ will show up on his perpetually delayed ‘Before I Self Destruct’ before it winds up on Em’s Relapse or even Dr. Dre’s ‘Detox.’ Fiddy also plans to shoot an animated video for ‘Crack,’ along with a video for his own single ‘I Get It In.’” Rolling Stone points out. “We’ll hopefully find out which Shady/Aftermath rapper claims ownership of ‘Crack a Bottle’ within the coming months, as all three albums are expected out in 2009.” the publication further explains.

If this single is on “Relapse” or not is, come to think of it, of little importance, as other media outlets are saying. What matters is that Eminem is again back on top, doing what he did for a very long time before his self-imposed retirement of sorts. Another important aspect is that fans at least know, also thanks to 50 Cent, that Eminem’s album is set to drop very soon. “It won’t be more than maybe two weeks before they [Eminem and Dr. Dre] start trying to figure out when they will start scheduling the release of his actual project.” Fiddy was revealing a couple of weeks back.
