Cowon improves the functionality of its media player series by offering alternate versions of the popular iAudioD2, which was recently introduced on the market. The new version of the media device is going to sport the same features as usual, as well as a 1seg TV tuner, capable of streaming content using its built-in retractable antenna.

Even if on international grounds the Cowon media player is going to be called D2TV, it is still going to be the same Japanese D2 DMB player. The device will measure the same 78 x 16.6 x 55.5 mm, weighing no more than 91 grams.

But the D2TV is not the only device to receive some extra features. The next one of the list to gain a little bit of functionality is the iAudio L2. The player is going to be enhanced with a TPEG transmission compatibility, which means it will offer its users some extra real-time traffic and weather-reports. The new service will be also broadcasted over DMB, but it will also come packed in the player's GPS navigation system.

Other features in the player's specs list are the AVI file and WMV of MPEG-4 compatibility. As for the resolution, the highest is 320?240 dots. The music file compatibility supports MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC and WAV. JPEG is the only one recommended for still pictures, and now, the device will also provide some TPEG transmissions.

The Cowon D2TV player is expected to hit the markets this month in 3 various models, of 2GB, 4GB and 8GB, respectively. As for the price tags, the 2GB model is expected to cost 25.800 Yen, the 4GB one retails for 29.800 Yen, while the fattest 8GB player will retail for somewhere around 36.800 Yen.

And if we wait a little longer, they might even add a bagel toaster inside it, wouldn't that be great?
