Courtney Stodden became internationally known as “Teen Bride” when she married a man who could have easily been her father, actor Doug Hutchison. Since then, she's been trying to make it in reality television – but it's just now that she gets her big break.

Those who kept up with the controversy must know that Courtney was a minor when she tied the knot, which prompted lots of speculation about this being just a PR stunt orchestrated by her manager mother and husband to boost the careers of both.

In time, though, interest dwindled and whatever offers they initially got stopped coming when they asked for more money than producers were willing to pay.

At one point, word had it that the twosome was in negotiations with VH1 for “Couples Therapy,” a show that would focus on them talking about their marital problems in front of the camera in the hope of working them out.

They issued a denial to say they would not, in a million years, need relationship rehab.

Turns out that they do, at least until they make their big break on TV, TMZ has learned.

As much as Courtney professed her marriage to Doug was perfect, she's now agreed to be on the VH1 show. She's already confirmed this on her Twitter, where she announced her followers she'd be offline while she's shooting it.

“Here's a shocker... 17-year-old Courtney Stodden believes there are MAJOR PROBLEMS with her marriage to 52-year-old 'Lost' actor Doug Hutchison and now she hopes they can be solved on a VH1 reality show,” TMZ writes.

“Sources connected to production tell us the couple has acknowledged there are 'obvious problems in their relationship because of their age difference and the notoriety they've gotten because of their relationship',” the report further notes.

“Courtney and Doug – along with 4 other couples – will receive 'intense counseling' throughout the course of the show, which began taping a few days ago,” TMZ goes on to say.

Considering that Stodden said on Twitter she'd only be away for 3 weeks, “intense” is the very word one would use in relation to the kind of marital counseling she and her hubby will be receiving.
