After a relatively short absence from the spotlight, Courtney Stodden is back. Initially known as “teen bride,” the aspiring singer slash reality star sat down with The Fab Life to talk about her career.

Video of the interview is below.

Courtney, who is now 17 but was 16 at the time she married character actor Doug Hutchison (51), reveals in the interview that, had it not been for the May-December union, she'd probably still be pursuing a career in showbiz.

Which, ironically enough, doesn't mean that she's not in pursuit of it anymore.

“If I hadn’t married Doug, I would still be pursuing my music, definitely,” Courtney says, while annoyingly patting the side of a very unfortunate-looking pink-dyed pooch.

“I would probably still be involved in acting and learning that. I would probably be down the same path I’m on now, but I wouldn’t be blessed with this gift of great success so early on. But I’d still be pursuing the same thing,” she says.

While she and her much older husband are still negotiating the terms of getting their own reality show (VH1 is very interested in it, reports have it), she's also working on her music.

“I’m currently in production with some songs, with some singles that are going to be coming out in 2012. I’m really excited to hurry up and get those done and share it with you guys,” she says.

However, the most surprising part of the interview is when she says that she's actually modeling her showbiz career with the phrase “old Hollywood” in mind.

Either she's thinking of getting a makeover somewhere down the road, or she's completely delusional, voices online are pointing out.

“I want to be original, unique. And I really want to bring back the classy beautiful edge of old Hollywood. But I want my own career… The career of Courtney Stodden! Yeah!” she gushes.

Below is the interview. The Fab Life says there's more to come, so keep an eye out for it.
