Lindsay Lohan got her day in court on Monday and, though she was saying only hours before that she believed she had no reason to worry, the judge was crystal clear on the conditions she must fulfill to remain out on bail. The star will be wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet, will subject to random drug testing and will continue attending alcohol education classes, People magazine informs.

Lohan’s legal problems stem from the allegation of her being in violation of her probation, as part of a sentence for an older drunk-driving case. Last week, she failed to attend a hearing after saying her passport had been stolen in Cannes, while tabloids ran pictures and stories of her partying for every single night of her stay. Because of this, the judge assigned on the case told the media she’d make an example of the star, should she fail to comply with every condition set by the court.

“At a Los Angeles court hearing Monday, the actress was ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet, called a SCRAM device. Lohan will also be subject to weekly random drug testing and is forbidden from drinking any alcohol as conditions for the actress to remain free on bail. Lohan, 23, showed up in court looking nervous, wearing a black business suit with her hair back in a ponytail and was accompanied by her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley. She was 10 minutes late to the scheduled 8:30 a.m. hearing – but L.A. Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel accepted the attorney’s explanation that the delay was due to security concerns caused by the media crowd outside the courthouse,” People informs.

Though Lohan’s attorney tried to make the judge see that the SCRAM device could – and will – interfere with her client’s career, she remained unconvinced. When Lohan was told she must wear the ankle bracelet, her attorney tried to bargain for random alcohol testing instead, saying she had to attend several photoshoots and start work on a new film in Texas in the following weeks. The judge did not even deign to take the offer into consideration, reports say.

“Lohan’s only words in court were ‘Yes, your honor,’ when asked if she understood the conditions. The judge also warned Lohan that a missed drug test ‘is the same as a dirty test’ and ordered her to continue attending alcohol education courses once a week. The actress will be fitted with the bracelet in the next 24 hours. This will be the second time Lohan has worn the device. She voluntarily wore one three years ago following her first DUI arrest and a stint in rehab,” People further informs.

Should the SCRAM device detect any trace of alcohol in Lohan’s body or the authorities be alerted if she tries to remove it, she risks a maximum of 6 months in jail.
