Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has just received a fresh patch from Valve that should fix the different matchmaking problems and user interface issues that have affected fans, not to mention eliminate the performance problems and lag experienced during deathmatch games.

Valve came back from the Easter holiday with a bang, bringing forth a variety of big updates for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, including the new Huntsman one, which added not one, but three item cases and also a new gun collection and a mechanic to personalize the heads-up display.

Unfortunately, the update also caused a few problems during matchmaking and deathmatches, as small amounts of lag and stutters were reported by players.

Valve quickly acted and has now released a fresh update for the game via Steam.

The patch brings a suite of changes, starting with the matchmaking system, which should no longer end the buytime once all players join the server. The warmup time once everyone is connected has also been increased from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.

The user interface has seen a lot of improvements, starting with the default radar scale and money counter, which should no longer overlap in the spectator mode at most common resolutions.

The dropdown panels in the settings menu now support more than 20 options and the grenade icons should no longer draw black bars.

The HUD alert should not flicker anymore and the bonus panel in deathmatches isn't going to overlap with the radar.

Most importantly, the HUD options code has been optimized to improve performance, meaning it will no longer cause lag or stuttering during gameplay.

The Software Development Kit has also seen a few improvements, with new commands designed to help map creators as well those who want to craft variations of Demolition games.

A series of miscellaneous fixes are also included in the new Counter-Strike update, like an effective range and rangefinder functionality to some commands. Bad positioning of hostage icons has been resolved, while Deathmatches will now display the correct name for all the guns. What's more, the next weapon panels now work for all the guns in deathmatch.

Last but not least, when accessing CS:GO inventory on the Steam Community section, players should see an increase in performance, thanks to some backend optimizations made by Valve.

The new update is already live on Steam and weighs in at 18.8MB. It will be automatically downloaded the next time you start the client and are connected to the Internet.
