Valve has pinned a release date on its upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive online shooter, confirming that it’s going to be out for the PC, Mac, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms on August 21, with a price of just $15 (around €12).

The Counter-Strike series is set to make a triumphant comeback with Global Offensive later this year, as Valve wants to combine the simple mechanics of the older 1.6 iteration with the sharper graphics of the Source one.

Now, in between a range of news coming from E3 2012, Valve has apparently confirmed, via Eurogamer, both a price and a release date for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

According to the website, the online shooter is out on August 21 on the PC and Mac platforms, via Steam, as well as on the PlayStation 3, via the PS Store, and the Xbox 360, via the Xbox Live Arcade.

The game is priced at $15 (around €12) on all platforms and will receive more details in the near future.
