Zombies and mindless killing?

Looks like Valve wants to strike gold once more, as they did with the FPS, Counter Strike. They have teamed up with Turtle Rock to develop a new co-op multiplayer game called Left 4 Dead.

Little information is known about this upcoming game, but I can only speculate from the title that it will involve killing zombies (or at least I hope so). Left 4 Dead will be based on an advanced version of the Source Engine and will also implement the second version of Turtles Rock's A.I. Technology. Apparently, it will make its debut on PC, but we will have to wait for it quite some time as it will be released sometime in 2007.

If we are to believe Gabe Newell, Left 4 Dead will do co-op playing mode, more or less what Counter Strike did for online gaming. This sounds extremely good, but let's hope Gabe Newell is not all talk.

Turtle Rock Studios have already worked with Valve on several projects, including an Xbox port of the original Counter-Strike. They also developed Counter Strike: Condition Zero and various maps for Counter-Strike: Source. Turtle Rock is an independent video game development which was founded back in 2002 by Michael Booth.
