The event in Barcelona might be the perfect scene for Motorola to make a tablet comeback

Last week Google took the mobile industry by surprise when it announced it was selling the recently purchased Motorola Mobility to Lenovo for $2.91 / €2.15 billion.

But this new change in plans might not hinder Motorola's plans of releasing a bunch of new products at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, later this month.

The company has already sent out invites for the press conference it will going to host on February 25 in Spain, without revealing much in the process (except that you can spot one of the girls in the picture seemingly holding a smartphone).

Some sources are claiming we won’t see anything new coming out of Motorola, and the event has been set up to clarify some of the issues related to the buyout by Lenovo.

However, Gottabemobile hypothesizes some new products might be on their way, maybe a new tablet. After all, not so long ago Motorola’s CEO teased the possibility of a Moto X tablet taking advantage of the customization capabilities of Moto Maker.

Apart from the official’s statement, nothing seems to indicate a tablet might be coming. Even so, MWC would be the perfect stage for a big product launch, maybe a Motorola ThinkPad X tablet?
