Women looking for a larger cup size have now another option to the traditional silicone implants or the much cheaper variant of a well-padded support bra. Cosmetic surgeon Laurence Kirwan, operating both in London and New York, has come up with an idea for augmentation without using any foreign substance but breast tissue, the Telegraph reports.

The idea is to create volume where none was to be had before, and that is easily done by relocating breast tissue. Thus, Prof. Kirwan is able to create augmentations without the “plastic” feel, which not only look but also feel very natural to the touch. By taking tissue from beneath the nipple and moving it to the area above, the breast gains more plumpness and volume, the specialist assures women.

“Professor Laurence Kirwan, a British consultant – who has a practice in New York and another in London – will discuss the operation at an American medical conference next month. The technique is one of the emerging methods surgeons are developing to create a fuller breast more naturally and without the need for silicone implants. Other techniques involve moving fat from elsewhere in the body and even using stem cells to grow new breast tissue,” the Telegraph writes of the revolutionary procedure.

Clearly, the advantages to it far outweigh those of implants, as the surgeon himself points out. “What I do is to move around some of their assets to produce the best effect. What we are doing is moving tissue so that the skin is tightened below, pushing the breast up and filling it out. For a lot of women this will be the ultimate breast enlargement operation that will be almost permanent compared to the use of implants which need replacing after around 10 years,” Kirwan says.

So far, the Professor has performed this type of cosmetic surgery on an estimated 150 women, both in the US and in the UK. The downsides to it are that it takes up to three hours and a half for the surgeon to “move around the assets,” costing anywhere between $12,000 and $18,000.
