The IT industry is frantically gearing up for the second major event of the year. New products have already started to kick in from MSI and Dell, but it's Corsair's turn now to break the big news. The company has pre-announced its professional HX1000W modular power supply, that will be showcased during the event.

The company's HX1000W power source is the world's first modular power supply to pass Nvidia's three-way certification test. According to the company officials, the new 1,000 watts power-source will deliver its entire power at temperatures of maximum 50 degrees Celsius. This is quite a breakthrough for the industry, given the fact that the vast majority of power source units manufacturers won't rate their power supply at such high temperatures. The same technical specifications sheet claims that it will be able to achieve at least 80 percent efficiency across a wide range of loading conditions.

"Having the first 1,000 watt power supply that is certified for 3-way Nvidia SLI Technology is a great honour," said Jack Peterson, Vice President of Corporate Marketing. "The fact that the HX1000W meets the 3-way Nvidia SLI Technology specification at a wattage rating that is up to 30 percent lower than some of our competitors highlights Corsair's superior engineering expertise and world-class product development efforts."

The company has announced that the new power source unit will hit the retailers' shelves at the end of March, and will come with an estimative price tag of $280 for the United States market, and a little premium for the UK customers. The company will back it up with Corsair's standard five year warranty.

The memory manufacturer has recently announced updated versions of its DDR2 and DDR3 memory modules. For instance, the new limit for the DR2 modules is 1,066MHz and 1,142MHz for 4GB (2x2GB) memory kits that use the DHX cooling technology, while the DDR3 offerings can reach clock speeds of more than 2,000MHz.
