PSU and memory maker of high repute Corsair has just announced that its has expanded its gaming-oriented lines of power supplies, aptly dubbed Gaming Series, with three new models, each with 80Plus certification and tri-color LED fans.

Once again eager to play the power efficiency card, Corsair has expanded its Gaming Series of PSUs with three models of 600W, 700W and 800W, respectively.

As one would expect, they are dubbed GS600, GS700 and GS800 and have efficiency ratings of at least 80 percent.

This efficiency is what earned them 80Plus certification, though this does not imply that aesthetics were sacrificed completely.

In fact, the power supplies actually come equipped with tri-color 140mm LED fans that mix red, white and blue.

The GS600 is the only one that does not exactly share this trait, as its spinner has only blue LEDs.

For those interested in the actual specifications, the newcomers are compatible with the ATX12V v2.3 standard and boast 0.99 Active Power Factor Correction (Active PFC).

Basically, this fan adjusts its speed according to the temperature, practically reducing the level of noise whenever possible.

Other assets include fully-sleeved cables and a MTBF of 100,000 hours, a reliability apparently reflected in the warranty plan of three years.

“The matte black finish and illuminated fans make the Gaming Series PSUs the ideal complement for your gaming rig,” stated Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of Components at Corsair.

“Whether you choose the 600, 700, or 800 watt model, you’ll have the clean, efficient power to create the best gaming PC – yours,” he added.

The only so-called 'disadvantage' that the newcomers have, compared to other gaming-oriented power supply units, it that they do not possess a modular design.

The GS600, GS700 and GS800 have already become available and have prices of $100, $110 and $120, respectively.
