Nvidia advances its SLI certification program. The logos don't come cheap but several companies are willing to pay the price.

Nvidia announced the selection of Corsair as a company that will receive the SLI Read certification. The SLI (Scalable Link Interface) technology connects two video cards in order to offer more scalability and higher performance.

The Corsair XMS DDR2 memory comes in four models CM2X512-5400C4, CM2X512-5400C4PRO, TWIN2X1024-5400C4 and TWIN2X1024-5400C4PRO. Their timings are 4-4-4-12 PC2-5400 and they come in 512MB/1GB sizes. The PRO versions also feature funky LED activity meters on top.

As part of the SLI certification process, every component must pass a series of tests, including diagnostics, benchmarking and interoperability. Only products that offer the highest stability and performance under extreme conditions get the certification.

Promoting the SLI technology, the dedicated site SLIzone.com offers information about recommended components. Nvidia has also certified power supplies and motherboards in the SLI program.

It must be pointed out that the Nvidia certification isn't absolutely necessary for using a component with SLI technology, especially if it's from a reputable company.
