14 DAY TRIAL // Corsair has just announced the introduction of its new series of energy-efficient, high-performance modular power supplies, featuring capacities of 750W and 850W. According to the company, its new Professional Series HX750W and HX850W can deliver the necessary power required by high-end systems, while also providing computer enthusiasts with a level of up 90% energy efficiency. Thanks to their capacity of providing users with an optimum balance between performance and energy efficiency, these Professional Series from Corsair have been awarded with the 80 PLUS Silver certification.
“Our new Professional Series HX850W and HX750W power supplies build on the phenomenal success of the award-winning Corsair HX620W PSU, offering even higher levels of performance, efficiency and reliability, including an industry-leading 7 Year Warranty,” said Jim Carlton, VP of Marketing for Corsair. “The HX850W and HX750W have the power to handle the latest multi-core, multi-graphics PCs, and include the features that enthusiasts demand, including a comprehensive modular cable set and super-high efficiency.”
Corsair also announced that, aside from providing users with a high level of performance and energy-efficiency, these new Professional Series PSUs were designed to work at low-noise levels, thanks to the adoption of a 140mm cooling fan that features a 'specifically modified fan-speed curve.' This feature prevents the fan from 'spinning up' until the PSU reaches 70% of the rated load.
Additional features of the new PSU series include single +12V rails for high-performance computer components, solid state capacitors, Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) and an ATX-ready form factor. In addition, as mentioned before, these power supply units boast a modular design, also providing users with a series of included connectors. Unfortunately, Corsair hasn't announced any details regarding the pricing or availability of its latest Professional Series PSUs. However, these units could make an appearance at the upcoming Computex 2009 show.
