Less heat, more performance

As you probably already know, Corsair is one of the best known players on the DDR manufacturer's market, especially as a developer of high-end solutions for high-performance systems, and the latest offering from the company, namely the TWIN2X2048-6400C4D DOMINATOR model, makes no exception, as you'll soon be able to see for yourselves.

Thus, the new model sports some pretty innovative features, probably the most important being the Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX) technology that substantially increases the memory module's thermal dissipation so that the heat generated by the RAM cells can be more efficiently removed from the module via two paths. This improves drastically the behavior of the Corsair memory module, as the Dominator is recommended by its manufactures to be used in cases of extreme overclocking or for performance computing and gaming.

The new memory modules from Corsair are available in 2GB kits, are perfectly compatible with the AMD Athlon64 AM2 and Intel Core2 Duo based motherboards, as well as SLI ready, and feature the Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP) already common to the other Corsair XMS memory modules (EPP simplifies overclocking a lot, even for newbies). There are 2 types of Dominator models available on the market, one running at 800 MHz, and one at 1066 MHz. The worst thing about these otherwise superb products is their price, ranging from 400 Euro to 700 Euro, but let's face it, Corsair products have never been the cheapest on the market.
