The European version comes with a revised 120mm fan

Out in the US since August last year, Cooler Master’s GeminII SF524 top-flow cooler has now also reached Europe, where it has started selling from various online and offline retailers for 37 EUR (about $49 US).

The European version has actually suffered a slight modification when compared to its US counterpart, since this time Cooler Master decided to bundle its creation with a different fan.

This is supposed to be somewhat more silent than the one found in the US version of the GeminII SF524, since it operates at 1300 RPM or 900 RPM when using the silent mode adapter (the S524 has a PWM fan going at 800 to 1800 RPM).

Like most other fans used for today's coolers, this one also features PWM control, which lets the motherboard vary its speed depending on the CPU temperature.

According to Cooler Master, its noise level should never go above 56dBA, while at its minimum rotation speed supported this generates 36dBA of noise.

Silence freaks should be glad to know that the 120mm fan supplied together with the cooler can be swapped for a quitter 140mm model, if they so desire.

In order to draw the heat away from the CPU core, the GeminII SF524 is equipped with five heatpipes measuring 6mm in diameter that go into an aluminum fin stack.

Besides the 120mm fan, Cooler Master’s creation also comes bundled with the required AMD and Intel CPU mounting clips.

These are compatible with Intel's LGA 1155, and LGA 1156 sockets and can also be used with AMD's AM2, AM3, AM3+ and FM1 processor mounts (sadly Intel’s LGA 2011 processors aren’t supported).

According to TechPowerUp, the Cooler Master GeminII SF524 top-flow cooler is available right now for 37 EUR, which translates into about $49 US.
