Enthusiast-oriented hardware on display at Computex

Cooler Master decided to have its Computex exhibition cover both 'extremes' of the IT market. On the one hand, there is the Elite 370, an affordable but competent chassis, on the other hand, there comes the Silent Pro Gold family of high-end PSUs. All products are designed with user-friendliness in mind but make a point of still offering significant performance.

The Silent Pro Gold power supplies are less concerned with pricing as they are with quality. This much can be gleamed form the name itself. Not only do they boast a modular cable design, but use an L-shaped heatsink that enhances cooling effectiveness. This ensures that the 600W, 700W, 800W, 900W, 1,000W and 1,200W models run stably and safely. Additionally, Japanese capacitors and a Hybrid Transformer improve lifespan and power efficiency, respectively. In fact, the products have an efficiency of over 90%, and, thus, have already earned the 80Plus Gold rating.

The PSUs are compliant with the EPS 12V V2.92 and ATX 12V V2.3 standards, have a MTBF of 100,000 hours, 120mm or 135mm fans and a single 12V rail. They also feature an Active PFC and a low noise output. Finally, though their prices have not yet been disclosed, they are supposedly already shipping and accompanied by a five-year warranty.

The Elite 370 seems closer to embodying the concept of temperance. Measuring 190 (W) x 424 (H) x 481 (D) mm, the mid-Tower is made of 0.5mm SECC steel, which lets it weigh only 4.7kg. As for actual specifications, it has a front I/O panel with audio and USB 2.0 ports, three exposed 5.25-inch bays, tool-free HDD bays, dust filters for the top and bottom intakes and a 120mm exhaust fan at the rear.

Additionally, a part of the motherboard tray has been cut out, to fit coolers with backplates. Unfortunately, pricing and availability details have not been revealed.
