Every computer needs a power supply unit and the better the PSU the more stable and reliable the system is. A good power supply unit also protects the computer's hardware components for the occasional power fluctuations, shocks and overvoltages. Another aspect of good and reliable power supply units is that, as every experienced overclocker knows, it can increase the stability of an overclocked system. According to the cooling equipment, computer chassis and power supply units producer Cooler Master they will extend the warranty of their retail PSUs to a period of five years.

Cooler Master announced in a press release that the extended warranty period will affect power supply units from the Real Power and Real Power M series and the producer hopes that this increase of the warranty period will attract more new customers and increase the confidence of already existing users. Both of the Real Power and Real Power M series power supply units are designed with high energy efficiency in mind and they are also well suited for environments where quiet operation is important. To their stable output, Cooler Master added the active power factor correction (PFC for short) that implies a high, over 80 percent energy efficiency. Just like most PSU's designed for hardcore operation, Cooler Master's series have a built-in fan speed controller that is used to minimize running noises and reduce overall power consumption. One more good point in favor of the Real Power PSU series is that they are also Nvidia SLI certified, so users wanting to add a second video card can do so in complete confidence that their dual graphics system will run as stable as before.

The Real Power M series are aimed at customers wanting a modular power supply unit that allows for customized power cables layout. By connecting only the desired cables, users will reduce the clutter inside their computer cases and improve airflow. As an adaptive measure to the apparition of Quad SLI and two-way server systems, Cooler Master included six +12V rails for better power distribution. Just like the Real Power PSUs, the M series comes with active power form correction and an integrated fan speed controller that translates into "greater efficiency and heat dissipation with low noise output".
