Mobile connected devices are doing this, showing some positive impact

Unlike the PC market, analysts actually have good things to say about the consumer and automotive electronics industries.

After all, while smartphones and tablets haven been chipping away at the market share of PCs, they have been acting as the driving force behind the resurgence in the auto, audio, TV segments, according to CEA.

CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) periodically conducts surveys and studies into the state of the worldwide CE industry.

Audio products, TV displays and, of course, automotive technologies have been selling better compared to 2012.

Overall, the CE industry has been holding steady, but those segments have been gaining ground.

"Despite uncertain economic conditions, 2013 CE industry revenue will remain consistent with 2012 levels," said CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro.

In 2013, smartphones and tablets will account for 32.2% of CE industry revenue, and TVs won't be far behind. Read more into this here.
