Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am event the other day, paired with Jason Bohn. One of her shots hit a woman straight in the face, causing a nasty gash and lots of bleeding.

The New York Times reports that Rice was incredibly nice to the woman but also very apologetic about the bad shot.

“On the par-5 sixth hole, which features a blind approach to the uphill green, Rice’s second shot landed on the side of the hill. After she advanced it several yards with her third, her fourth shot flew out of the grabby grass and hit a spectator standing behind the left gallery rope,” the publication says.

She went over to the woman and helped her come to her senses until medics arrived.

“Did I hit you? It was a bad shot. I’m really sorry,” Rice was heard telling the woman, whose identity has not been revealed to the press.

The NY Times also notes that Rice’s game only got worse after this incident, but at least she made sure the woman was ok before moving on, even passing on her phone number to the woman’s daughter, to receive updates on her condition.
