As is almost always the case, the high-end solid-state drives that just came out rely on controller chips made by SandForce.

To be more specific, Team Group brought some solid-state drives to Computex, in Taipei, Taiwan.

They are called the Dark L3 series and use 19nm MLC NAND Flash chips, as well as the SandForce SF-2281 IC.

There are three capacity options: 60 GB, 120 GB and 240 GB.

Performance varies from drive to drive, but the highest threshold is 550 MB/s when reading and 450 MB/s when writing.

That's just the sequential speed though. The 4K random performance is of 35,000 IOPS random reads and 25,000/50,000 random writes (60GB/ the other two).

TRIM, NCQ, and SMART are all supported by the 2.5-inch, 9.5 mm-thick newcomers. Prices are unknown though.
