It is almost cube-shaped and has the motherboard bisecting it through the middle

Normally, PC cases only have one panel worth removing, because the motherboard tray is less than an inch away from the other, and there isn't much that would need to be done there, except for screwing or unscrewing an ODD or HDD/SSD.

Corsair's Carbide Air 540D chassis is different, not just because of how ludicrously wide it is but because of what this width entails.

Basically, the motherboard isn't next to the secondary side panel. Instead, it is right in the middle.

You can see the optical disk bays to the right of the so-called center of the case, and a simple, meshed front on the other. Stripes of perforated metal decorate the top as well.

The newcomer can hold ATX and EATX motherboards and has eight expansion slots, two 5.25-inch bays, two detachable drive cages for 3.5/2/5-inch drives and extra room for storage drive beneath the mainboard tray.

Availability and pricing are set for next month (July 2013).
