McAfee adopts a new advertising campaign

The streets have always represented a great way to advertise your products, because you got your messages read no matter what. People are always there and it's a great opportunity to make yourself heard. This is exactly what McAfee aims to do, by placing some billboards in San Francisco Bay Area and in Dallas. The new advertising campaign is supposed to remind people that security measures must be taken no matter if you were attacked or not. Yep, it sounds like a "just in case" matter, but I really agree with the McAfee fellows, who have always fought for better computer security.

"If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area or around Dallas, you may have noticed some new McAfee billboards on your way to work. We recently launched a regional advertising campaign, and the billboards are generating a bit of buzz for their boldness," David DeWalt wrote on the official blog of security vendor McAfee.

"We are doing this, in part, to remind the public that there are bad guys out there who are always looking for ways to get at confidential information-especially in the thick of the holiday shopping season. The billboards reinforce the fact that McAfee is the leading company working to protect consumers and businesses from hackers", he added.

And people really appreciate this kind of messages. You know it, when you got good feedback, you're satisfied. Usually, this satisfaction encourages you to repeat your actions in the future, just like in our case. It seems like McAfee will bring some new billboards in the future, as we all need to learn how to protect our data. However, the security vendor just got a great way to advertise its products.

"The response I've heard from employees and customers has been overwhelmingly positive, so watch for more in 2008 as we reach out to a broader audience with this campaign. And bad guys, beware. You may be smart, but we are smarter," the McAfee official added.
