Developer Relic Entertainment confirms that it will launch a closed beta stage for its upcoming Company of Heroes 2 on April 2, with the testing period set to run for two weeks.

VG247 says that an internal note from the company shows that the beta stage for Company of Heroes 2 will involve no less than six maps, all of them designed to support matches going from head-to-head to four-versus-four player, in two teams.

Gamers will be able to create their armies and leaders and the progression system is set to reach level 40.

Relic says that the beta period is designed to allow the company to test the multiplayer infrastructure and get feedback to make last-minute changes to gameplay balance.

Company of Heroes 2 will be launched on the PC on June 25.
