Developer Relic and publisher SEGA announce that Company of Heroes 2 now has a launch date of June 25 on the PC in North America and Europe.

The strategy title was expected to arrive this spring, but Relic and the franchise have been acquired by SEGA after original publisher THQ entered bankruptcy and was forced to auction off its own assets.

CVG quotes Jonathan Dowdeswell, the executive producer on Company of Heroes 2, saying that the delay is linked to the team’s desire to deliver the best PC experience possible.

Producer Greg Wilson adds, “We hate to disappoint our fans with a later than expected date as we know they are eager to play but we feel that the additional time will help the team deliver the high quality sequel fans deserve.”

Relic will launch a closed beta for Company of Heroes 2 in order to test the multiplayer side of the game.
