14 DAY TRIAL // With Apple still not shipping a white version of the iPhone 4, those who’ve already purchased the black model now have the option to convert it to any color they wish, by soliciting the skills of The SmartPhone Clinic. Starting this week The SmartPhone Clinic is taking pre-orders for a new service called "iColors" for the iPhone.
The company can take a normal black iPhone 4 sold by Apple and convert it to red, blue, pink or even the elusive white model, in just 30 minutes of "reconstructive surgery."
Best of all, they'll apply the same treatment for damaged iPhones as well, the two 22-year-old entrepreneurs behind The SmartPhone Clinic said.
The duo clarified that they are not attaching a case or sticker, but actual colored glass.
According to one of the company’s representatives, the parts they use are from the same OEMs (original equipment manufacturer) Apple works with.
The SmartPhone Clinic will also offer a DIY kit for $189.99. However, those who are timid about taking apart their expensive iPhone 4 can just opt for the complete iColors conversion, which includes parts and labor for $229.99.
In addition to the iColor service, The SmartPhone Clinic also offers options for leather, carbon fiber, metal, wood and other designs, as replacements for the iPhone 4’s original enclosure.
