This incident actually happened, as it was engineered by comedian Kurt Braunohler. He paid a sky writer to write the scary but rather funny message.
The photo of it was posted on Reddit, where 70,000 people with a lot of time on their hands up voted it. Moreover, Braunohler paid for this stunt with other people's money.
He launched a Kickstarter campaign, urging people to send funds his way so he can “write stupid things with clouds in the sky.”
“Please help me pull of this incredibly idiotic stunt,” he advertises, and he has raised $6,800 (€5,260) so far.
