Ubisoft is strongly focusing on both the Nintendo DS and the tween demographic, since it plans to release a bunch of games aimed at kids aged six to ten. One of these very promising titles (at least good for the parents, who are concerned with the games kids play nowadays) is Combat Giants: Dinosaurs, expected to be released this fall.

According to Ubisoft, the game will feature some of the best 3D graphics you have ever seen on Nintendo's handheld, as well as intuitive controls. The game will focus, as the name suggests, on fighting: players will have to battle other dinosaurs using only their stylus and the touchscreen. For added fun, a multiplayer mode for up to eight players is being implemented by Ubisoft.

In Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs, each player will have the opportunity to create the dinosaur he prefers and lead it to glory. There are no less than 26 species available, from predators to scavengers and nine maps to fight on, each with unique features and specific threats. During gameplay, players will gather eggs which will be further used on getting new thorns, feathers and bones, which will turn the dinosaurs into the mightiest creatures in the world. All in all, even though it doesn't really sound like that, Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs can be looked at as an educational feature, too, since the kids will learn quite a few things about dinosaurs (including the fact that they fight one another until they drop, but that's another story).

A pretty complete customization level is also featured in the game, which allows players to customize their dinosaurs by choosing preferred colors and patterns or using the eggs earned in combat to increase the three stats (strength, pace, toughness). Also, there will be some bonding involved, too, since players will have to find water and food to keep their dinosaur healthy and be sure to heal its wounds after each fight.
