Actor Columbus Short, who has been playing the character of Harrison Wright on the ABC hit drama “Scandal,” has been fired from the series due to his real-life problems and scandals he's caused, mostly with domestic violence.

Short couldn't escape the rumors and scandals that he caused when he was accused of allegedly attacking and threatening to kill his wife. Not to mention the recent bar brawl in which he supposedly left a man bloodied and unconscious after he beat him within an inch of his life.

As it turns out, this is not the kind of attention the producers of the series or the network were looking for and they decided to take swift action and to inform Short that he will no longer be a part of the show.

All of a sudden, the finale of “Scandal” starts to make sense. Short's character, Harrison, an employee at a crisis firm, is held at gunpoint in what is clear indication that he's been killed off the series. It's amazing how much power the writers have, but Short just found out how easy it is to lose your role if you cross the execs.

Weeks ago, the actor was charged with battery, as he violently attacked his wife in his home on April 7. He threatened to kill her and then himself in the argument. It is believed that Short's outburst was sparked by her alleged cheating. At least, that's his version.

Columbus has released an official statement in which he confirms his exit from the show “At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble in television today. Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas.  I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast…”

His firing could also be connected with fans of the series, who complained about Short's violent temper and asked for him to be cut from the show.

His wife, Tuere Short, has since the attack filed for divorce and described the scene in which her husband attacked her. She claims that Columbus threatened to hit her with a wine bottle, poured its contents all over her, after which he choked her and grabbed a knife holding it against her leg and demanding truthful answers, according to TMZ.
