14 DAY TRIAL // Don't know how many of you knew this, but Colorful is apparently celebrating its two-year anniversary, the company just announcing the custom designed Nvidia GTX 460 iGame460 Commemorative Edition GPU, only 50 such boards being available worldwide.
Compared with other video cards built using Nvidia's GTX 460 graphics core, Colorful's GPU comes with an extensive bundle as well as gold-plated DVI and HDMI connectors, all the goodies being packed inside a cool-looking silver suitcase.
The board itself is built around a custom PCB and cooling system, Colorful adding 2GB of video buffer to differentiate itself from its competitors.
In addition, the iGame460 is also factory overclocked, the GPU running at 890MHz while the GDDR5 memory frequency is set at 1GHz (4000MHz effective).
This means that the iGame460 should deliver increased performance when compared with regular GTX 460 graphics cards, as its GPU speed was increased by a whopping 31%, compared to Nvidia's reference clock rates.
The GTX 460 is build using Nvidia's GF104 core that is made up of 336 stream processors, 56 texturing units and 32 ROPs, the 2GB of memory being run over a 256-bit wide bus.
The power delivery circuit is designed in order to use a 6+1 phase setup, quite a step up for the three phases used by Nvidia's GTX 460 reference design.
According to SlashGear, every suitcase is numbered and, besides the graphics card, contains an HDMI output line, hand-painted sign, a network snake power cord (whatever that may mean) and an Air-kit aero which appears to be an extra heatpipe that should somehow be added to the graphics card for improved cooling.
Sadly, no details regarding pricing or availability were made public, but considering the small number of cards being built, I am sure the iGame460 Commemorative Edition will be far too expensive to justify its price.
