If you are from Colorado and you plan to go to Hugo’s Barber Shop for a haircut, make sure you don’t smoke marijuana before heading to the location.

This particular barber shop, situated in Greeley, refuses service to people who smell like weed. The owner of the business put a sign on the front door advising potential clients that they won’t benefit from their services if they smell of marijuana.

“Please do not come in if you smell like marijuana, there are families with kids who don't want to smell it. This is a business not your house, thank you. If you don’t’ like it please go somewhere else,” says the sign, according to 9NEWS.

Hugo Corral, the owner, explained that he took this decision after receiving several complaints from some of his customers. He said that since Colorado legalized recreational marijuana, about half his customers have been showing up smelling like pot, which prompted him to make a change in the barber shop’s policy.

“I feel that it’s my right to make the statement. It’s the same thing as no shoes no service,” said shop owner Hugo Corral.

“A mother calls and says, ‘Hey we can’t go in there anymore because we don’t want it to smell like marijuana when my child’s sitting there waiting,’” he added.

Corral has received mixed feedback since posting the sign several weeks ago. Some have accused him of discrimination, while others applauded him for taking a stand.
