DLC for the PC

Microsoft has finally delivered confirmation that Fable III will be coming to the old PC, through Games for Windows Live, while also announcing a new Collector's Edition package which, in a weird move, will only be offered to those who are planning on enjoying the role playing game on the Xbox 360 home console. Apparently, all the content provided in the special edition will also be offered as downloadable content for those gaming on the PC.

The limited Collector's Edition will come in a very interesting box, which will look like a big old story book taken directly from the game world Fable creates. Inside, players will find the game disk, complete with a new exclusive quest that will deliver the powerful Wolfsbane sword as a reward and with an exclusive location oriented towards the family building of the main character.

There's also a set of playing cards modeled on the world of Fable III, a special coin with the Guild Seal, which can be used when decisions go either way, a pack of clothes called Aurora, and a Boxer breed of god only found in the Collector's Edition. Those fans who plan to get it will need to part ways with 79.99 dollars.

Microsoft is saying that other digital distribution services, like Direct 2 Drive, Impulse or Steam, will not be offering Fable III, with players who do not want a retail package needing to log into Games for Windows Live and use the Games on Demand service. The price will be set at 49.99 dollars on the PC, independent on how the gamer gets the title.

With the first Fable coming to the PC with extra content and Fable III confirmed as also being offered, it would be nice to see the software giant deliver the second videogame in the series to the platform, allowing players to get the full experience of the series.
